Zvonareva, Bellis among PR rankings in Oz

In theory, the top 104 players gain direct entry to the Australian Open.

But when players use their protected ranking to enter, that number drops proportionately.

On the men’s side, Alexandr Dolgopolov and Vasek Pospisil intend to use it, dropping the cutoff (so far) to No. 102.

For the women, it will be even lower.

Vera Zvonareva, Cici Bellis, Katie Boulter and Anna Schmiedlova have already entered with their protected rankings. You’d expect Coco Vandeweghe to do the same before the deadline.

They may not all play. But as it stands, No. 99 (currently Samantha Stosur) is the last one in.
