More Indian Davis Cup drama

For a relatively minor player on the Davis Cup scene, India doesn’t shortchange on the drama.

The latest is about the ITF’s decision to shift an upcoming tie against Pakistan from Islamabad to a neutral venue, because of security concerns.

Top doubles player Rohan Bopanna and longtime captain Mahesh Bhupathi declined to go to Islamabad.

But before the announcement, their federation decided to replace Bhupathi as captain, naming Rohit Rajpal.

Bhupathi rejects the move – especially as he now will travel.

Bopanna’s beef is: how do you not consult the players?

The federation’s thing is: who cares what you think?
