Pospisil’s productive Challenger road trip

After a third-round effort from qualifying at the Masters 1000 in Shanghai, Pospisil has reeled off 11 victories to win the Las Vegas and Charlottesville Challengers.

Pospisil and coach Frank Dancevic then hit the road for Knoxville, scheduled to be his final event of 2019

Pospisil’s ranking rose from No. 248 to No. 153. He’d have to win Knoxville, get a wild card into Houston and win it to make the Australian Open main draw.

That would be tough physically for a player out eight months after back surgery.

But per the ATP rules, he should be able to use his protected ranking.
