American Kennedy Shaffer, a lively, intelligent 22-year-old who’s extremely popular with her peers, headed out on the pro tour after a standout career at the University of Georgia.
But it’s been a struggle. First, she finally got a diagnosis (Celiac’s disease) to explain the pain she had endured for a year.
Then, it took forever to diagnose the source of a right wrist injury, through a couple of futile cortisone injections.
She underwent surgery in late April. The summer has been a comeback.
Shaffer is asking for help on GoFundMe to make her professional dream come true.
