Serena Williams in the women’s final and a riveting men’s final added up to big ratings in North America and the U.K.
The men’s final was the most viewed on ESPN since Federer-Murray in 2012, up 211% from 2018. It had 3.3 million watching, while the Saturday slate attracted 1.2 million.
Some 2.3 million Canadians watched all of part of the men’s final (in English) on TSN – double last year. The women’s final was up 34 per cent, to 1.6 million.
The men’s final peaked at 9.6 million at 7.05 p.m. on the BBC, averaging six million and beating out both the cricket and Formula 1 combined.
