Greece enters ATP Cup picture

You know the new ATP Cup will do its best to make sure all the top players play.

And this week, Greece – basically, Stefanos Tsitsipas – sits seventh in the standings. After the US Open, the top 18 countries in the standings are in.

A country has to have a minimum of three players with ATP rankings (two in singles). So Greece was out – until Michael Pervolarakis reached the third round of the Winnetka Challenger.

Pervolarakis, 23, had a ranking in 2018 before his points were wiped out in the ITF purge.

Markos Kalovelonis is No. 879 in doubles, with one ranking point.
