From Wimbledon marathon to Cancun 15K

As much attention as the crazy 2018 Wimbledon semifinal between Kevin Anderson and John Isner received (26-24 in the fifth), there was another marathon that day.

British junior Jack Draper squared off against Colombia’s Nicolas Mejia, prevailing 7-6(5) 6-7(6) 19-17

Fast forward one year. After wild cards into Queen’s and Wimbledon qualifying and doubles, Draper – still 17 – is at a … $15K ITF event in Cancun this week. He’s currently anked No. 510 (No. 65 ITF)

Guess who his doubles partner is? That’s right, Mejia,

Mejia, now 19, has no ATP ranking, stuck in the ITF vortex at No. 186.

Hopefully they’ll celebrate a win together.
