Photos: Federer, del Potro, Coric and Goffin

PARIS – The new Court Philippe-Chatrier is nearly unrecognizable after a massive revamp since the 2018 edition of the French Open.

But some of the players practicing on it Wednesday, amidst the drilling and the last-minute hammering, looked thoroughly familiar.

Juan Martin del Potro hit with Borna Coric.

And then, Roger Federer had a two-hour practice with David Goffin.

(It wasn’t close to a record; Frenchman Lucas Pouille had a three-hour block booked on the new Court Simonne-Mathieu Wednesday. Which is one of the perks of being a local).

Federer seems to have changed the hairstyle a little bit. He had this sort of sideswept, slightly longer bangs things going on.

But those bangs were kind of annoying him early on. So it wasn’t very long before he put on a bandanna.

As for the elephant Uniqlo T-shirt, well, we’ll let you make the call on that one.

Here’s what they looked like.
