Nigerian Atseye suspended by TIU

A Nigerian player named Henry Atseye was suspended by the Tennis Integrity Unit this week.

Atseye, 30, has played almost exclusively on the six-tournament ITF circuit in his country since 2005.

He has never been ranked higher than No. 1518.

The biggest failure of the ITF’s revamping of its “Transition Tour” is that it seemed a goal was to weed out the Henry Atseyes of the world, players long past the point of having a legitimate shot at a career.

But the ongoing selling of the scoring data just motivates them to stay in the game even longer.
