“Being Serena” nominated for 3 Emmys

Serena Williams’s documentary series called “Being Serena” earned three of the 16 Sports Emmy nominations garnered by the network on which it aired, HBO.

The five-part series aired last May.


The series, which chronicles Williams’s life through pregnancy, motherhood and returning to the pro tour, was nominated in the “Outstanding Serialized Sports Documentary”, “Outstanding Music Direction” and “Outstanding Camera Work” categories.

No word yet on if and when there might be a Season 2 – she’s got plenty of material.

The awards will be presented May 20 at Lincoln Center in New York City.
