Sportsmanship the true champ in Lille

With all of the machinations surrounding the Davis Cup tug of war, how superb was it that the players from France and Croatia could still remember the point of the exercise.

The French were devastated after losing the final in Lille Sunday – even if they were outmanned and outplayed.

Lucas Pouille, notably, was inconsolable in the aftermath.

But the French squad paid a visit to the victorious Croats in their locker room.

And this show of fraternité and sportsmanship even put a smile on Pouille’s face.

That’s the best takeaway.
