From rugby to tennis in 60 hours

Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille, France is a multi-purpose, 50,000-seat retractable roof stadium that gets used from everything to sporting events to rock concerts.

But to see the transformation in action is quite a thing.

In 60 hours, the stadium went from hosting a rugby game to an indoor clay-court stadium for about 25,000 people.

It’s not as though they hadn’t done this before.

Still, to put down a clay court in 2 1/2 days and (except for a little bump on the service line) to have so few obvious issues is a feat.

Here’s what it looked like.
