Raonic joins Hawaii Open party

Other than the players not being home for Christmas, the Hawaii Open tennis exhibition comes at a perfect time, in the perfect place.

The 12-player men’s and women’s event takes place Dec. 21-23 at the indoor Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, the site for Elvis Presley’s epic concert in 1973. (There’s a statue of him outside the arena).

It’s a sweet stopover on the way Down Under.

For the men, Raonic joins Kei Nishikori, Ryan Harrison, Jared Donaldson, Mackenzie McDonald and Bradley Klahn.

For the women: GarbiƱe Muguruza, Genie Bouchard, Coco Vandeweghe, Christina Mchale, Kayla Day and … CiCi Bellis.
