Commitment award for Mauresmo

“Whatever happens, whatever happens in our lives outside Team France, I think there will always be something that binds us,” Amélie Mauresmo said.

During the dramatic first-round tie between France and Belgium last weekend, the former French Fed Cup player and captain received the ITF Fed Cup Commitment Award, with the trophy presented to her by French Federation president Bernard Giudicelli.

With Yannick Noah set to step down at the end of 2018, could Mauresmo (whose second child turns one this spring) be persuaded to return?

One thing is for sure: her graceful, dignified presence is missed.
