Svitolina, Bartoli added to TBT in NYC

The annual March tennis rendez-vous at Madison Square Garden started with a must-see. Roger Federer and his idol Pete Sampras met in a highly-anticipated showdown in 2008

The format has changed multiple times, with varying degrees of success. Federer returned (with Sharapova in 2012 and again in 2015), Nadal came in 2013, Djokovic in 2014.

Last year’s format was a U.S. vs. World competition.

This year, they’re trying the first all-female version of the Tie Break Tens format. Serena and Venus are on board, with the event confirming Elina Svitolina and Marion Bartoli Wednesday. Four more to go.

The date is Monday, March 5.
