Federer, Sharapova at Oz Open draw

The Australian Open draw ceremony will be held Thursday night at 7 p.m. and will be televised locally on Channel 7 as well as streamed on the tournament’s website.

(A draw ceremony is kind of like watching grass grow. But fans seem to enjoy it).


The guest stars are major for the event, as defending champion Roger Federer and former champion Maria Sharapova will be there.

Two years after Sharapova tested positive for meldonium at the same event, resulting in a 15-month suspension, it’s full circle.

No doubt she’s forgiven Federer for not having her back.
