No Oz wild card for Bernard Tomic

As of Saturday morning in Melbourne, Bernard Tomic is still on the entry list for the Australian Open qualifying.

But tournament director Craig Tiley confirmed Thursday that the 25-year-old won’t get a main draw wild card.

“Qualifying starts next week … and I would hope that Bernie would want to put himself in a position to play. But he’s indicated that that’s likely not going to be the case,” Tiley told the AAP.

The AAP writes its information is that Tomic “is fired up” to play the qualifying. But it seems he may be busy elsewhere.
