Monetizing the Aus Open ballkids

It’s surprising that the emblematic Australian spread Vegemite (an acquired taste) hasn’t been associated with the Australian Open before now.

But now, it is “the official Australian Open ballkid partner and will help fuel the ballkid squad throughout their training and official duties.” (And Vegemite ambassador Ashleigh Barty, too).

Up until last week, it seemed Woolworth’s was to be the ballkids partner for the third year, “dedicated to feeding fresh talent”. That page is now cached.

In 2008, the ballkids were furled by Aviva. For most (if not all years) since then, the ballkids have worn Lacoste.
