Serena’s Oz return still unconfirmed

It seemed to be a foregone conclusion new mom Serena Williams would return at the Australian Open (based on comments from tournament director Craig Tiley).

Notably, though, the woman herself has never confirmed it.

Coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who tends to tell it like it is, says nothing is decided.

“She is practicing and getting back in shape. I will be joining her soon in Florida,” Mouratoglou told CNN.com.  “We will see how her body is reacting and how her tennis level is and we will take a decision regarding Australia.”

Williams has not officially entered any warmup tournaments.
