Auger-Aliassime: another Challenger final


Not to be outdone by his great friend (and US Open roomie) Denis Shapovalov, 17-year-old Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime has reached the final of another Challenger event.

The 2016 US Open junior champ made his big-boy debut in the qualifying a few weeks ago (losing to Sergiy Stakhovsky in the second round). He immediately headed to the European clay-court Challenger circuit.


Auger-Aliassime defeated No. 5 seed Filip Krajinovic 3-6, 7-6 (4) 6-3 in the semis of the Copa Sevilla Friday. He faces Iñigo Cervantes in the final.

He was just 16 when he won the Lyon Challenger in June.
