Stosur due back next week in Tokyo

Even as the US Open is still going on, the WTA Tour already is moving on.

Next week (in fact, this weekend, with the qualifying), there are tournaments in both Quebec City, Canada and Tokyo, Japan.

And 2011 US Open champ Samantha Stosur, out all summer with a hand injury, is finally due to return in Tokyo.

It’s Thursday in Tokyo, and she hasn’t yet pulled out. That’s a good sign.

Genie Bouchard is due to play the Quebec City event, a 2 1/2-hour drive from her hometown of Montreal.
