Federer’s old racquet available again

Even stubborn Roger Federer gave up the small-head racquet years ago. That doesn’t mean Wilson can’t produce a new commemorative version.

They admit he only used this stick briefly when he was young. But the Wilson Pro Staff RF 85 Ltd. is going on pre-sale June 1. A hefty 357 grams, strung, it’s extremely head light and has a leather grip, The promo says it “plows through the ball like a hot knife through butter.” It’s a surgeon’s tool; be careful at home, kids.

Painted black with an engraved image of Federer, it will retail for $249.
