Extra push-ups on court for Fujiwara

Just in case she wasn’t getting enough exercise against Brit Laura Robson in Kurume, Japan this week, Rika Fujiwara added some.

“Honestly she did more push-ups in the second set than I’ve done in the last year,” Robson joked to fellow player Coco Vandeweghe on Twitter.

The video prompted replies on social media from people who’ve seen opponents in recreational play do the same thing.

Fujiwara, 35, was a top-100 player and in the top 15 in doubles 15 years ago. She still plays a lot, but only in Japan. Robson won 6-1, 6-3.
